The New "Third Bloc"

Last updated: August 16, 2026

A cluster of parties formed in mid-2026, mostly by figures who broke from Likud or the security establishment, positioning themselves as kingmakers for a “broad Zionist unity government” that would exclude the Haredi parties, push universal IDF conscription, and try to replace the Haredim as the traditional coalition kingmakers. As of early August 2026, none of them were clearing the 3.25% threshold in polling — treat their “kingmaker” positioning as leverage/messaging ahead of the September 9, 2026 list-submission deadline rather than a current polling reality.

As of the most recent Kan poll used in this research (early August 2026), none of these parties individually cleared the 3.25% threshold, leaving the overall two-bloc deadlock (Netanyahu bloc vs. change bloc) essentially unchanged. Watch for mergers among these three before the candidate-list deadline — that’s the single most likely way this bloc becomes electorally relevant.
