7–8 seats · Range across recent surveys (Kan, Channel 12, Channel 13), 2026-08-16
Last updated: August 16, 2026
Hebrew: יהדות התורה · An alliance of two factions:
- Degel HaTorah (דגל התורה, “Flag of the Torah”) — Lithuanian/“Litvish” Haredi, led by Moshe Gafni; spiritual authority Rabbi Dov Lando
- Agudat Yisrael (אגודת ישראל) — Hasidic Haredi, led by Yitzhak Goldknopf
Ideology is narrowly sectoral: protecting yeshiva-student draft exemptions, state funding for Torah study, and religious authority over personal-status matters (marriage, conversion, etc.).
- Polling: roughly 7–8 seats.
- Recent development: Both UTJ factions formally quit the governing coalition on July 14–16, 2025 after the conscription-exemption bill failed to pass, dropping Netanyahu below a majority. UTJ has since pushed for Knesset dissolution.
- Watch for: internal pressure from a possible new hardline splinter Haredi party (nicknamed “Black Ink” in coverage) and from Ben Gvir competing for traditionalist voters; both Haredi parties have leaned more on cost-of-living messaging than religious-stakes messaging this cycle.
